As Project Executive in the Construction Division, Larry brings an outstanding depth of knowledge to Cross Street Partners. A highly regarded visionary with years of experience in home building and creative land development, he is responsible for spearheading the residential component at CSP.
Mr. Rosenberg’s career began in Boston in 1979 as an Assistant Project Manager for The Flatley Company. He was responsible for production and quality control of two 300-room Sheraton Hotels and Conference Centers. In 1981 he transitioned to Corcoran Mullins Jennison (CMJ), a pioneer in adaptive re-use of historic buildings, and transforming failing project into thriving communities. As Vice President at CMJ Builders he oversaw all aspects of land planning, architecture, construction, and interior design of over 5,000 market rate, and affordable apartments from New Hampshire to Florida. Projects included multi-family, hi-rise apartments, mixed use, including early stage planning with Goody Clancy on the redevelopment of Columbia Point into the award winning Harbor Point in South Boston.
Upon returning to Baltimore in 1983, Mr. Rosenberg re-chartered The Mark Building Company, (MBC) a company first incorporated in 1952 by his father. The Vision: build a well-designed, well-constructed, livable, energy efficient homes at an affordable price that will ultimately prove to be a sound investment for the buyer. Through creative land planning, and an innovatively designed narrow/deep home, MBC was able to double the single family density and cut the finished lot cost in half. Initially focused in Columbia, MD, MBC homes were priced to fill a niche in the market for move-up buyers. Due to buyer excitement every MBC home was pre-sold, which kept marketing and carry cost to a minimum. All costs savings were used to maximize the value of the home for the buyer. Led by Mr. Rosenberg, MBC expanded throughout Maryland always staying ahead of the curve developing and building innovative new home designs. Highlights included a first floor living – empty nester home – the first in Baltimore at Cross Keys, and the TND community in Middle River, MD -WaterView A New American Town- designed by Urban Design Associates (UDA). WaterView was awarded Community of the Year by The Land Development Council. Mr. Rosenberg was awarded Visionary of the Year by Baltimore County for positive impact on the community through innovative design and land use. MBC was also an early adopter and leader in the area of sustainability and energy efficiency. During 1983 – 2016, Mark Building Company completed more than 2,000 homes with a market value in excess of $500,000,000.
He is a 1979 graduate of Boston University with a BS degree in Business Administration.
